The Victoria.

The Victoria Pub, located on John Bright Street and only moments away from Birmingham New Street Station and is one of Birmingham hidden gems.

Stocking a really good range of beers and with a fabulous cocktail menu and good honest pub grub, quiz nights and a quirky interior, The Victoria is a proper pub with a lovely atmosphere.

The food is basic, the burgers are good but the pizzas are mouth wateringly perfect. Thin and crispy bases  with a range of toppings, made fresh to order.

The decor inside can be best described  as eccentric with colourful cartoons on the walls in the back room and a collection of retro light fittings in the main bar.

Ideally placed for after show drinks or a pre-theatre bite to eat this beautiful Victorian archetecture retains all the old school charm of a proper English pub.

We chose to have a pizza each, which in hindsight was a little too greedy. We also added sweet potato fries and coleslaw. A couple of cocktails went down very well, as I said the cocktail menu is pretty awesome. I(Red) had a Dark & Stormy, the perfect long drink for a lovely summers day, refreshing with ginger ale and lime but with a delicious hit of rum. Gold had a passion fruit based cocktail, served in a girlie champagne saucer.

With prices for cocktails at the £7.00 price range it is well in keeping with the majority of Birminghams bar prices. Our meal plus drinks came in at around £30.

The Victoria is well worth travelling just a little off the beaten track for, honestly it’s not that far away from the city centre. it’s a lovely quiet lunchtime watering hole and buzzing of an evenings.
